Syrian migrant accused of sex crimes against 9 women in eastern Germany

Dresdner police have detained a 33-year-old Syrian man on Sunday evening. He is suspected of sexual assaults against multiple women, TAG24 reports.

One of the victims recognised him at the local BRN festival. Police detained the offender in the quarter of Neustadt after a victim had spotted him in the Louisenstraße.

According to the police, he is being investigated for no less than nine cases against him. Specifically it is about sex attacks that happened in Dresden during the last months.

The 33-year-old is said to have molested a 19-year-old woman in Löbtau only a few days ago. Two other women fell victim to him at the end of May at Görlitzer Street.

In the morning of May 26th he allegedly tried to rape a 23 year old woman in the entrance of a building. Only because the young woman defended herself fiercely, he finally fled.

Similar assaults by the Syrian are reported to have happened in February as well as in March in three other streets (Hechtstraße, Fichtenstraße and Rudolf-Leonhard-Straße).

A 24 year old woman had been harassed at the beginning of May in the Görlitzer Street. Something similar happened to a woman aged 34 at the Bischofsweg, she too got touched indecently.

The Police were able to detain the suspect because one of his victims recognised him during a street festival in the Louisenstraße.

On Monday, the Syrian man was brought before the investigating judge who issued an arrest warrant. Now the 33-year-old is behind bars.
